Looking at the scan confirmed how short my walk was. However, it was enjoyable and well marked but slow going for me on the bumpy ground of the eucalyptus plantation. When I saw the cars to the right with the paper going left, I knew this was not even the short cut that had been mentioned but it was enough for me that day. Old Macdonald was already back and in fine fettle after completing the proper short cut. Everyone gave a thumbs up to the Hares for excellent trails. We welcomed TITS and TITS Grabber visiting Hashers from UK but living and hashing in Turkey and soon after they got another down-down with FOYC song as leavers. We also welcomed Drag Queen and her dogs from the Bangkok Thursday Hash. I beckoned Worzel Gummidge’s girlfriend to enter the circle and she answered all the Mad Mullah’s questions…. just for fun because I knew all along she hadn’t left the car park. Any charges? Yes, Mudman to explain why it took him so long to overtake Easy Off. He duly got a down-down for admitting he enjoyed the view running behind her. This reminded me of when I was Hash Flash on the Siam Sunday H3. The caption for the photo of a young man following a bunch of lovely Harriettes was “I never want to be a front runner on this Hash” but I digress and probably will do again if nobody else volunteers to scribe! On On!

It was a lovely car park area, completely surrounded by trees but plenty of space. Onefer suggested an easy walk for me, which was very enjoyable. Taking a short cut to the split, enabled me to have the craic with nearly everyone passing by except a few front runners. They went straight on stretching their legs into the distance and the walkers turned right on what looked quite an easy path to stumble on but more of that later. We had a few dogs, a little bit shaggy but the stories told in the circle were definitely of the shaggy dog variety. After down-downing the Hares and welcoming Lily the Pink with the well known song, it was time for my story (with Danny Boy trumpet interlude) remembering Paddywhacker’s passing. I got quite carried away recounting how he and Dimwit laid the trail at the same location in February 2021 (see Archives). Then Rubber Duck called in anyone with Irish ancestry with a lively response. Next came the ultimate shaggy dog story from Mudman as part of handing on the Hash Shit. It was like a whodunnit guessing who would be his victim. At one point Dimwit cut in with “is there an end to this story?” So I’m going to keep the suspense going by saying “turn up next time to find out”, if you weren’t there. Ding-a-Ling chipped in with another long story about Old Macdonald’s little tumble, caused allegedly by racing on the Hash and finally it was Dimwit’s turn with a tortuous joke in the dwindling daylight. On On!
