Hash Notes by Head Ballcock
On a very hot afternoon, a goodly number of hardy or foolish souls attended Cha Am hash no. 452 below the Temple on route 1010.
Dave the Rave was the hare, all on his lonesome and he did the pre-run briefing. He explained the challenges ahead and particularly his home-made abseiling device designed to help hashers down a very steep creek slope going backwards and using the abseiling rope.
His detailed description was met with blank stares suggesting that the gathered throng were not altogether convinced or indeed able to make this perilous descent. Time would tell.
However off we set and the FRBs.tore off at apace which belied the prevailing temperature. This suggested that the temperature was not quite as hot as expected or rank stupidity.
The runners were encountering some difficulties with the trail as in the distance your erstwhile Scribe could hear cries of On On. and equally contradictory yells from others suggesting there was some confusion with trail paper and false trails. This should not have been a surprise as Dave the Rave delights in setting such trails.
I accompanied Farmer John on the walker’s trail and was most impressed with his sprightly approach to the abseiling section which he conquered incident free, unlike others who came to grief like Mudman and Hugs.
We were warned of dogs on the trail however Farmer John displayed his skills with dogs and control thereof by talking gently to them in his Lincolnshire accent which they clearly understood as they shut up and continued with their business or went back to sleep.
We went on to the carpark to enjoy the circle and the chit chat

Mudman gave a special pre-circle tribute to Hollow Legs telling us he is moving to the UK with his wife and daughter because of a health problem and that we owe him a debt of gratitude for the work he's done for the Hash over the years, which was acknowledged with a round of applause. Later in the circle, I suggested Hollow Legs should be added to CAH3 nobility alongside Ballbanger. It was similar to a christening with Baron and Lord being clearly outvoted, resulting in Mudman taking a down-down as a stand-in for The Honourable Hollow Legs. It was the indefatigable Dave the Rave who told an "old one's are the best" joke as well as being Biermeister and Hare and even lead the FOYC song for leaver Dazzlin'. Next song was Old Macdonald Had A Farm with "cluck-clucks" from the farmer himself, then on after to a very large restaurant with quite bewilderingly good service (hope for everyone). On On!

Now you know why I volunteered to be GM, of course it was the chance to sing “Wild Thing”, see photos. Blowjob followed on with a song from the same era, correctly attributed to The Kinks, which inspired a rousing approval for Summer to be christened “Kinky”. Earlier, a host of virgins had the usual interrogation by the RA including Bor whose initial reluctance prompted an extra down-down for partner Manfred. We welcomed visitors Bruised Willy and Worzel Gummidge and were particularly honoured that Flasher and Madam Lash from Oz included us in their international Hash tour. There were many different trail options, as the scans show, with opportunities for over achievers to go round again as they’d enjoyed it so much. The Hares got a rousing thumbs up from all participants. I particularly enjoyed the pleasant riverside walk. The On After was also successful with a return to “60s Town” and, although busy, good service. I’d forgotten to down-down Leavers in the circle so Body Snatcher and Donkey Cock were serenaded with “hope you’ll soon be back with us” at the restaurant. On On!
